“All Nature seems at work. Slugs leave their lair
The bees are stirring, birds are on the wing,
And Winter slumbering in the open air,
Wears on his smiling face a dream of spring.”
- Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Almost overnight, the crocus reappeared, dressing my wintery backyard in shades of purple. In a couple of blinks, Spring will be here. I’m ready – aren’t you?

This photo is absolutely beautiful! I love seeing it because my crocuses always die too soon. They come up and bloom and then we get a freeze and they are gone. So, now I can look at your photo to take their place!
Absolutely gorgeous! I love the contrast of the bright orange with the purple and the soft focus.
I love spring, when blogs … ehm meadows start filling with color. Wonderful capture!
What hits me here is the wonderful glow of the stamina – and it’s a perfect color contrast against that purple of the petals.
This is so beautiful. Lovely sight for these winter weary eyes.
The crocuses are in bloom here also, such spectacular flowers and you captured them well.
Beautiful purple!
The color is a wonderful sight Bonnie, I love this it really helps gear me up for spring !!
