…arrive hungry, leave inspired!

Leaf Study #1

“How beautifully leaves grow
old. How full of light
and color are their last days.”
– John Burroughs

I spent a good deal of time trapsing through the woods this week while camping. Here’s a simple leaf, dried and crispy, hanging from a prickly vine. I converted to b/w because I liked how it contrasts the veins.

  1. I love this. The leaf folded over on itself is wonderful. What graceful lines and curves.

  8. They’re all great pictures but this one is extra special. The detail and the thorns are perfect. Black and white seems like the only way to show this one…good decision. Not sure I would have thought of that. Thanks for all your unusual pictures!

  10. Thanks, everyone! I liked hearing how this image affected each of you. I love leaves and b/w sometimes works best. As for lighting…that’s God’s department. Early morning rarely disappoints.
