Yesterday I prepared our flowerbeds so I could plant several annuals this morning: petunias, pansies, and violets in between perennial standbys like delphinium, gerbera daisies, and saxifrage.

Here’s a tightly furled pansy just waiting to show off its purplish petals. I’ll post a followup picture when it opens.  This image is in honor of Barbara, a sweet friend who happens to love anything PURPLE. Stop by her Nana’s Notes blog and tell her I sent you.
