Gaillardia

Gardening imparts an organic perspective on the passage of time.  - William Cowper

Thinking back to last spring and summer, I remember Gaillardia as one of the most colorful perennials in my garden. Commonly known as Blanket Flower, it has brilliant shades of red and gold like certain southwestern blankets. Its name comes from the French botanist, Gaillard de Marentoneau.
